From bustling neighborhoods to peaceful historical landmarks, from authentic snack night markets to modern shopping centers, Taipei attracts every traveler with its unique charm. This guide will take you to experience the unique charm of Taipei in the next four days.

Day1:

On the first day, we suggest starting with Taipei 101, a landmark building in Taipei. This was once the tallest skyscraper in the world and a symbol of Taipei City. By taking the high-speed elevator directly to the observation deck, you will be able to overlook the magnificent scenery of the entire Taipei City. On clear days, you can even overlook the Yangmingshan and Keelung River . The opening hours of the observation deck are relatively long, so you can choose the peak time according to your own itinerary.

In the afternoon, you can go to Ximenting, the most popular gathering place for young people in Taipei. This is not only a shopping paradise, but also an excellent place to experience Taipei’s trendy culture. You can find fashionable clothing, creative shops, and taste a variety of street food here. Don’t forget to visit Ximen Honglou, a century old building that has now become a popular venue for cultural exhibitions and events. Whether it’s shopping or taking photos, it’s one of the iconic locations.

After finishing your daytime itinerary, head to Raohe Street Night Market for sightseeing in the evening to continue your culinary journey. Raohe Street Night Market is located in Songshan District and is one of the oldest night markets in Taipei. Not only do we have a variety of snacks here, but we also preserve many traditional Taiwanese flavors. I recommend trying the pepper cakes, oyster noodles, and pearl milk tea here, which are all classic delicacies in Taipei!

Day2:

You can start your journey the next day from the political and historical center of Taipei. Firstly, head to the Presidential Palace, a building located in the center of Taipei that is not only a political symbol of Taiwan, but also a great place to learn about Taiwan’s history. The visit to the Presidential Palace requires advance reservation and is usually scheduled in the morning.

After visiting the Presidential Palace, it takes a few minutes to walk to the 228 Peace Park. This is a peaceful green space in downtown Taipei, with a memorial hall showcasing an important historical event in Taiwan’s modern history. Suitable for visiting in the morning when there are not many people.

At noon, head to another historical landmark in Taipei – the Chiang Kai shek Memorial Hall. This memorial hall was built to commemorate former President of the Republic of China, Chiang Kai shek. The white building stands out particularly majestic against the backdrop of the blue sky. There is an exhibition of Chiang Kai shek’s life in the memorial hall, and the guard changing ceremony on the square is an unmissable performance.

During lunchtime, you can head to the most fashionable shopping district in Taipei – Xinyi Business District. This place gathers various international brands, high-end department stores, as well as fashionable restaurants and cafes. You can choose to taste the classic Xiaolongbao in Dingtaifeng!

After lunch, you can walk to the Sun Yat sen Memorial Hall. This memorial hall was built to commemorate Sun Yat sen, the founding father of the Republic of China, and exhibits many cultural relics and pictures related to Sun Yat sen’s life and deeds. The hourly guard handover ceremony is a highlight of the memorial hall, attracting many tourists to stop and watch.

At night, Taipei’s night market culture will bring you an unforgettable culinary experience. Although the night market in Ningxia is not large in scale, the variety of snacks here is rich and of high quality, making it a food paradise loved by both locals and tourists. It is recommended that you try Oyster omelette, salty crispy chicken and taro balls. These authentic Taiwanese snacks will certainly satisfy your appetite.

Day3:

Starting the third day of the journey from the historic Dadaocheng. Dadaocheng is one of the oldest commercial districts in Taipei, which preserves a large number of traditional buildings and is filled with a strong historical atmosphere. You can stroll along Dihua Street, visit traditional Chinese medicine shops, tea shops, and dry goods shops, and experience Taipei’s most primitive commercial culture. In recent years, many cultural and creative shops have gradually emerged on Dihua Street, selling various handicrafts and creative products, especially suitable for purchasing unique souvenirs.

At noon, Go to Taipei’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, which is the core area of Taipei’s creative industry. The predecessor of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was an old tobacco factory, which has now transformed into a cultural space integrating art, design, and creativity. Various exhibitions and events are often held in the park. You can visit contemporary art exhibitions or choose some unique design products from cultural and creative shops. If you enjoy photography, the industrial style buildings and well-designed installation art in the park are great photo materials.

In the evening, it is recommended that you go to Tamsui Old Street in the northern part of Taipei city, which is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Taipei. There are many nostalgic small shops and authentic snacks on Tamsui Old Street, making it a place full of history and charm. Walking on the old street, you will be attracted by the tranquility and antiquity here. If time permits, you can stop here and enjoy the sunset scenery along the banks of the Tamsui River.

At night, head to the beautiful Huabai Park in downtown Taipei to experience the scenery of Taipei from another perspective. The Meilihua Ferris Wheel is a famous tourist attraction in Taipei. Riding on the Ferris wheel, you can overlook the panoramic view of Taipei City from the sky. The Ferris wheel slowly rotates, taking in the entire scenery of Taipei. There are a wide range of dining options in Baiyuan, where you can enjoy dinner and end your day’s journey.

Day4:

On your last day in Taipei, head to Shilin Official Residence to begin your cultural journey in Taipei and visit the former residences of Chiang Kai shek and Soong Mei ling. The garden scenery of Shilin Official Residence is pleasant, making it an excellent choice for strolling or taking photos as a souvenir. The exhibition inside the official residence provides an important window for a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s history.

Subsequently, proceed to the Palace Museum located in Shilin District. The Palace Museum has a large collection of precious Chinese cultural relics and is an excellent place to learn about Chinese culture. The exhibits here cover thousands of years of history, from ceramics, calligraphy and painting to jade and bronze artifacts, everything is available. The most famous exhibits, such as jadeite cabbage and Mao Gong Ding, are must see attractions for every tourist. I suggest you plan your visit route in advance so that you can fully utilize your time and savor these cultural treasures.

In the evening, head to Shilin Night Market, which is one of the largest night markets in Taipei, offering a variety of Taiwanese snacks and specialty products. Due to the large scale and dense crowd of night markets, it is recommended that you choose the snacks you really want to taste in advance and avoid peak hours. The recommended dishes include chicken chops, large intestine buns, small intestines and Oyster omelette, which are classic dishes in Taipei night markets. The journey to Taiwan ends in the midst of delicious food.

If you are interested in the mountain city at night, you may want to go to Jiufen, New Taipei City near Taipei at night. Jiufen is famous for its unique mountain city style and charming night scenery, and is a popular spot for many tourists to take photos and check in. The old street is filled with traditional tea houses and specialty shops, and the night view of Jiufen is the biggest highlight here. You can enjoy a peaceful night here, taste authentic taro dessert, or simply stroll along the brightly lit streets to experience the unique charm of Jiufen.

The 4-day journey is coming to an end, but the memories of Taipei will stay in your heart for a long time. This city has left a deep impression on every tourist with its unique culture, rich cuisine, and warm people. From bustling urban landscapes to peaceful natural scenery, Taipei showcases its diverse and charming side.
